Accounting & tax, quietly handled

Numbers you can actually plan around

Cloud Arc is a small practice for founders, freelancers and growing companies. We keep the books clean, file everything on time, and translate the result into decisions you can make on a Monday morning.

  • Year-end accounts
  • Self assessment
  • Bookkeeping & payroll
  • Cloud software setup

Every engagement starts the same way: we sit down with your figures before we recommend anything.

What we handle

Four services that cover most small businesses

Take one, take all four. Most clients start with a year-end or a tax return and move the rest across once they see how we work.

Year-end accounts

Statutory accounts prepared, reviewed with you before anything is filed, and submitted well ahead of the deadline.

  • Companies House filing
  • Corporation tax return
  • Director’s review meeting

Personal tax returns

Self assessment for directors, sole traders and anyone with income that arrives from more than one direction.

  • Dividend & salary planning
  • Property and side income
  • Allowable expense review

Bookkeeping & payroll

A steady monthly rhythm so your accounts are never a scramble — reconciled ledgers and payroll run on schedule.

  • Monthly reconciliation
  • VAT returns
  • Payslips and pension filing

Advisory

The conversation that usually matters most: what the numbers mean for hiring, pricing, drawings and the year ahead.

  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Company structure review
  • Quarterly check-ins

How we work

Three steps, and you know exactly where you stand

No long onboarding, no jargon in the handover. Here is what happens between your first message and your first clean set of figures.

Introductory call

Thirty minutes to understand the business, what you file today and where the friction is. You leave with a clear scope and a fee we both agree on — before any work starts.

Clean-up and setup

We collect the records, tidy the history, and set your bookkeeping up in cloud software you can actually read. If you are switching, we handle the handover with your previous accountant.

A steady rhythm

Monthly or quarterly, depending on the scope: reconciled books, filings ahead of deadline, and a short written summary of what changed and what to watch.

The practice

Small on purpose, so you speak to the person doing the work

Cloud Arc was set up for owners who had outgrown a shoebox of receipts but did not want to become a file reference at a large firm. Every client works with a named accountant who knows the business, not a rotating support queue.

We are deliberately paperless: records come in through cloud software, questions are answered in plain language, and nothing is filed until you have seen it. If something in your accounts needs a decision, we say so early rather than in the week the deadline lands.

Questions

The things people ask before they get in touch

Can I switch accountants mid-year?
Yes, and it is more common than you would think. We write to your current accountant, request the professional clearance and the records we need, and pick up from wherever your books currently sit. You are not tied to a year-end date.
Do I have to use particular software?
We work with the main cloud bookkeeping packages and will happily keep what you already use if it suits the business. If you are starting from spreadsheets, we will set something up and show you the handful of things you actually need to do each month.
How is the fee worked out?
A fixed monthly or annual fee based on the scope we agree at the introductory call — the number of filings, the volume of transactions and whether payroll is included. It is quoted before any work begins, and it does not change unless the scope does.
What happens if a deadline is close?
Tell us in your enquiry. We will say plainly whether we can take the work on in the time available; if we cannot do it properly, we would rather say so than file something rushed.
What do you need from me to start?
Usually your last set of accounts, access to your bookkeeping records or bank statements for the current period, and the basic company or self-employment details. We will send a short checklist after the call so nothing gets missed.

Start here

Tell us where the business is, and we will tell you what it needs

A few lines is plenty. We will read it properly and come back with a straight answer about scope, timing and fee — or point you elsewhere if we are not the right fit.

What happens next We reply with either a short list of follow-up questions or a proposed time for the introductory call. Nothing is chargeable until you have accepted a written scope.

We use what you send here only to answer your enquiry.
